Began with speed dressing, a dodge around The Covered Bridge Run, a stop in Chelsea for Hannah and the shipment of La Cigale……yeah, the ice cream is back! I will also be carrying organic coconut ice cream this summer…….just setting up distribution. My favourite is the dark chocolate……full flavoured, sweet, bitter and just perfect, especially after a night swim in August’s heat. And then we opened the shop, received Art-is-in and then sadly, I attended the funeral for the father of a long time friend.  A procession of family, friends and collegues, through trees and gardens with new greens and fresh colour. Soft winds ruffled garments and played with the sunlight coming through the canopy. Tears, prayers and tender expressions of love and admiration for the deceased, appreciation and love, for all those that were there to support and words of wisdom for us all, to leave with light hearts and renewed intention to live our lives with passion and gratitude. Although it was an occasion of a grief that will echo for a long time to come, I feel privileged and grateful to have been there. Perhaps it’s these occasions, especially that remind us of how precious life is.

42 hummed with customer activity and Hannah did the Saturday muffin and scone thing.  And then after that we did a batch of  North African style Lamb Burgers and the Crispy Glazed Chicken Confit.
